Theresa got to chat with Ben today and I have some excerpts to post....

    mom: hey there
    Ben Stoddart: hi
    mom: whatcha doing?
Ben Stoddart: just got done finishing an essay for the class i'm taking...two more and i'm done with this class. it's pretty easy. they give me 10 weeks to finish each class and it's all at your own pace. This one i'll have done tomorrow and it only took me 2 weeks
Ben Stoddart: I enrolled in my next one already but it doesn't start until after i come back here. it starts on May 12th
    mom: wow thats great time
Ben Stoddart: yea, it shouldn't take me very long to get my associates
    .........

mom: getting excieted bout coming home?
    Ben Stoddart: heck yea
Ben Stoddart: i can't wait to leave here...even if it's only 2 weeks
Ben Stoddart: i need a break
    mom: you already packed?
Ben Stoddart: i'm not bringing much...just my computer and a couple small things
    .....

Ben Stoddart: yea..just coming home and getting out of here is enough for me
    mom: thats right
mom: were going to a baseball game too
mom: we have to look it up i think we have 2 games to pick from
Ben Stoddart: oh definitely...i already looked at their schedule there are a couple different teams they play when i'm home
mom: pick which game and we'll gwet the tickets now so we can plan it out
mom: tigers just beat kansas city in their opener
Ben Stoddart: it really doesn't matter much to me...either game is just as good im just looking forward to going again

    .........

Its only 12 or so days for R&R sounds like he is ready to roll.....

Patrick, I just noticed they didn't mention the Wings and the playoffs in their conversation!
He loves pepperoni bread and beer for the games

Thanks Mac An old friend of his can't believe the transformation and how he has changed physically.

He is so looking forward to being home with us......his girl friend is flying in from Kansas and we have things in order here for his return.
They are coming into Atlanta and he will hook up a flight to Detroit from there. He told me that if you go west they put you on a flight to Dallas and if your on the east you go through Atlanta.
He has his packet turned in and is waiting confirmation for flight training when this tour ends later this year.He is doubtful he will be based out of Ft.Riley if all goes as planned.
Looking at 2 Tigers games, and we are waiting on Wings tickets to come through for a day of playoff hockey....but it is up to him to decide what, and when he wants to do something

Kuwait was a for a long time, a military-oriented,"Dineyland". They can go shopping, eating, movies, and all kinds of fun. I wonder if it still is?

He is usually bored from travel when he is there but I will ask him about it.
He is out of Iraq this morning and on his way to Kuwait, he said the flights were rerouted to avoid the ash cloud and the guys he talked to returning have had no delays either way.
Its hard to describe the feeling we have knowing our son is out of there, but its really good.

    Default Back where he belongs.....

We have been having a great time with Ben home now

We did a Tigers game last night and have 2 more in the next two days.....and with the Red Wings advancing ( Sorry Patrick ) We are also looking for a playoff game to go to also...

This was taken when he got back 24 hours later than planned...he is so exhausted here but you can see that he is happy to be home....
