Default correct procedures in jacking car (doors open, or closed)

I heard, seen both. What is the correct way.

    Default Which Way?

I've always jacked convertibles with the doors closed. I believe there's less stress on the body/frame as the doors offer some structural integrity.

For safety reasons I have always jacked up a vehicle with the doors closed. Why would you want to jack a vehicle up with the doors open?

Doors closed. Over the years I have jacked up my C2 C3 C4 and C5 with the doors closed and never had a problem.
