Conclusion on Misbehaving Antenna

Have read a number of the threads on the antenna. on Mine, antenna is up & won't go down, yet can hear motor run. I've concluded that problem is either the band or the shaft itself. And it might be just as well to replace to the whole unit as to repair it. Does this sound like a fairly good conclusion?

You can buy just the mast and ribbon together not need to buy a whole unit. However, just replacing the mast and ribbon, may require more work, but maybe not. I would just replace what is wrong.
