DETROIT – Chevrolet today announced the return of a V-8 powered, rear-wheel-drive performance sedan to the U.S. lineup, the Chevrolet SS. The SS will also be Chevrolet’s next NASCAR Sprint Cup racecar and will debut in its race configuration at the 2013 Daytona 500.

The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war.
I'm gonna bet that the 2014 SS (the street version), as GM is calling it a "sedan," will be what once was the Pontiac G8, updated for MY14 and wearing Chevrolet body pieces.
Yes and its made here in Australia, its our Holden Commodore
Pontiac G8 enthusiasts take note: the 2014 Chevrolet SS performance sedan is set to arrive in Chevy showrooms late in 2013, GM announced today. The highly anticipated four-door will wear the SS, or Super Sport, name we suggested over two months ago and will serve as Chevy's NASCAR Sprint Cup racecar, debuting at the 2013 Daytona 500. While we're thrilled the 2014 Chevy SS exists at all, the rear-drive sedan is really a placeholder car until an all-new North American model debuts, likely for the 2016 model year.
