Best was one of its last...the G8. An outstanding example of what an American company could do if the challenge was a high-performance mid-sized sedan.
Problem is...the G8 came too late and had to go against the tide of stupid anti-American consumers stuck on BMW, Mercedes and Lexus products.
I guess if your talking past Pontiac's it would have to be the GTO. My first car was a 1966 Pontiac Catalina, a true land yacht, seats were as big as couches, had plenty of power for a big car. Looking back with 20/20 vision, along with the past Vettes I owned, I wished I kept the Catalina too..............

I'd have to vote for more than one .Personally I'd drop Buick (old folks car )before Pontiac .Pontiac has a more youthful image .
If traffic is being held up by someone driving 1 mph below the speed limit it's usually a Buick.
Yeah jgassaway, I also had a 87 Pontiac 6000, never had a problem with it, sold it for 2grand with 120,000mi. on it.

There is one for sale here in Amarillo. It's original except for the Craigers. Just a tad steep on the price ($26,900)...
