To steal from a well-worn phrase - long time member, first time poster. :L

After waiting for what seemed forever (actually two years), I finally pulled the trigger on my dream car - a 2009 black Z06 with competition gray wheels. It's a truly sinister looking machine. I'm so excited, I can't even stand it. I plan on picking it up later this week and will post some pics then. I finally get to live up to my username. :D

I want to pass on my thanks to Tom Jr. at MacMulkin. He and the staff there treated me to a truly exemplary purchasing experience. Anyone in the market should consider giving him a call.

So, look for pics from me on this thread soon. I look forward to participating now as a full fledged member of the hobby.

I just bought my first Corvette, I am 58 years old and have wanted one all my life. The C3 style has always been my favorite and I finally pulled the trigger and bought a '74 convertible. I cannot believe it was so easy to convince the better half. She has driven it and loves it so it's good to be aboard and look forward to participating in the forums. :beer

I am 39 years old and have driven just about everything being a tow truck driver. I was a Camaro guy until a 1985 corvette came along. WOW. Respect.
her rear trailing arm bushings are worn and the sway bar bushings are gone! just metal rolling around a bolt. turns out 3 sizes 22mm 24m 26mm. had to measure hole w/ micrometer to get right bush,. took her on wet road( after had L98 at top hp) oooh...she forgave me. was able to recover but have flat spot in 189$ tire(have insurance on all the others).putting money into rear end and had front tires swappped 2 back so dont feel the "You cant afford me, but you love me." of a 1985 c4

Wanted to "Officially" introduce myself here. I posted one or two threads in the C5 general section but didn't know about the new member section. I have a 2002 red coupe and the wife has a 2000 black coupe. We traded in our BWM's (7 series and 5 series respectively). This is actually my third Vette. The first was a C4 ('84) with the crossfire injection many years ago. I autocross mine while keeping it my daily driver as well. The wife uses hers as her daily driver as well.

Me: Whats up guys, my name is Dave and im from levittown pa. about a 30 min ride from philly and a 5 min ride from trenton. im 17 and just recieved an 84 vette 2 weeks ago for an early 18th bday present. I've been looking through the crossfire injection mine non-stop and am extremely excited to restore this beautiful car.

Her: shes an 84 cfi 91k miles, originally the two tone copper color, then painted over white. im stripping her down and making her yellow. she sat for about 4 years and unfortunatley the paint just deteriorated on it. so she needs a paintjob, seat covers, hood cable, and hood holder upper (sorry i cant think of the term), and a master cylinder among other things. From what i read the 84 is the rejected stepchild of all corvettes, but to me its everything. its a giant leap up from a 95 mazda mx-6 4 cyl with 170k miles haha. well anyways i figured im far enough into the project to introduce myself, seeing as im going to need all the help i can get to turn her into a beauty. im deffinately going to keep an update on the project and any advice is greatly appreciated. ;help
