2002 Torch Red Coupe
Default Black swirls?????????????

Hi

While washing my vette, l noticed behind my front wheels, under the doors where the body curves under there appeared black road tar. After cleaning the area with bug, tar remover, l realized that while most of it came off, there was still black marks that appear to be still there.

What can you suggest, could it have stained the paint right through the clear coat?

1996 LT1 Torch Red.

Thanks

Alan

You tried Bug and Tar remover? Start with that then use a wax or something stronger to remove what's left.

Not stronger cleaner but something stronger than wax so you can buff out the stuff. Rubbing compound for example. There many brand names and types out there.

you could try Simple Green. Don't let it dry on the paint. Make sure you wax the area again after it's buffed or cleaned out.

If need to buff it out, use leveling compound by Race Glaze... You can get it here -> http://www.mr-shine.com/ I have used this stuff MANY time on MANY cars and I can tell you its the best I have ever used. Its not as harsh as rubbing or polishing compound. Try it, you never use anything else..
