Default Turtle wax ICE? Any good?

I was going to smear that over my fabulous MAACO black paint job.

I found that Ice does not hold up during the winter in the Colorado mountains. I used it on two blazers last year. I find that Zaino and C-Magic are great and hold up. I know Jesse likes Ice and it does a good job for him.

Maybe it has something to do with ozone levels at higher altitudes!Mine sets out in the weather at least 330 days of the year!!I put at least 3 consecutive coats on them over a 2 day period, allowing them to dry for at least 8-10 hours between coats and give them a couple days before washing again!
The worst problem I have with it is getting it off if I have to paint!!I have to wipe them down with Poly Cracker 3-4 times and then use Mineral Spirits or Wax and Grease remover before sanding!! If I don't,forget about Fish Eyes,I get Whale Eyes!!

I've always heard that you should never use a synthetic product on your paint finish if you ever plan to repaint. Your experience as stated above would seem to verify that. On the other hand, if you are a lazy old fart like me, that stuff really goes on fast and can even be done in the sun. I have lots of trophys to show how good it looks and a lot of people ask what I use. Oh yeah, it's also fairly cheap and available from Wal Mart. Guess if you are a risk taker you use it, drive as carefully as you can and hope you never need body work

I use a Spray Wax called Showroom Shine, I get it from my local BG Chemical Guy. Great stuff, I use it a as detailer from between waxes and washes. Good stuff for getting off dust, brake dust, bugs, etc...

    Default New Question

I have been using Ice for a couple of years now on all my cars and today I had a problem with it leaving smuges or smear strikes all over the car. I tried several times to work it out by reapplying the Ice and I could not get it to come off. I tried using water as suggested on the bottle and it did not help. Finally I went back to an old stand by. Classic Car Carnuba Wax. It did remove all the blemishies. How do you get Ice to work so well for you? And do you have to wait more than the time it takes to apply it all over the car before removing it?

I'm not a big fan of Ice. I bought it and used it once, and there on the shelf it sits with numerous other products. Check out adamspolishes.com as they have great products.

The first time I used Ice I wasn't very impressed. It seemed to leave a film or wouldn't all come off. I talked to 6Shooter since he had good success with Ice, also gmjunkie "Jesse" and they both recommended after application to back the car out in the sun for about 20 to 30 minutes and be sure to use Micro Fiber Towel to remove the wax.

WELL the difference is light night and day. The wax comes off and shines up real purty (as Jesse says ). I also found that the HOTTER the better when using Ice..

I tried the Ice Liquid Clay Bar, and really like that stuff too. Used the plastic bag test and it passed just like using the small claybar and lot's of time going over the entire car

Before Ice I used Klause' products. They are great too
