Default reprogramming pre 2008 paddle shifters?

I understand the software for the 08 paddleshifters is much improved over the pre o8 models. Does anyone know if the pre 08's can be re-programmed to match the 08's?

I was told that it more than just software. GM also made some changes to the transmission as well. So it might take more than just reprogramming.

I don't personally know much about the automatic paddle shifter c6 yet I've read quite a few posts over the past few months where "tuners" retune the computer that runs the automatic tranny and the change is quite dramatic..

Of course it does put your warranty into question because someone mods the computer that controls the transmission but thats another call.
