Default C6 airbag light

Hello fellow Corvette gang. I was fortunate enough to obtain a beautiful new Victory red sb2 package c6 in June. I simply love it!! I live in Arizona and I noticed that my tire pressures go between 26 and 30. Is this normal? Also does anybody have intermittent airbag warning lights?

Red C6,
Welcome to the Corvette Action Center.
I'm not sure about the airbag issue or the sensors (I don't even have sensors on my C5 Z06).
I'll move this over to the C6 General Discussion to see if you can get some answers over there.

Tammy

Can't say anything about the airbag light.

However the tire pressures vary a lot with tire temperature. It's 35-40 degrees here in OKC and I see 28 psi in the morning when I leave the garage. On the way to work, the tires warm up just from the driving and the pressures go up 2-3 psi.
By quitting time, the temp is up to 60-65 and the pressures are up to 30/31 psi just sitting there. On the way home, they go up another 2-3 psi.

So, 26-30 sounds pretty normal to me. I'd bump of the cold pressure a little though.

Hi Red C6,

As far as the tire pressure goes. You should check them cold first. And correct the tire pressure as necessary. Not sure where in Arizona you live. But, depends on the temps in your region, what your tire pressure will read. I live in San Francisco. The temps are more constant and am averaging 30-34 on DIC cold to warm tires. Hope that helps.

Hi there,
There is a few GM preliminary documents for this particular issue, with the airbag.
I would definately get that checked out ASAP.
As for the tire pressure sensors, make sure that they are set at 30 psi, before driving for the day. They should increase while driving, as the tires get hot to about 35-36.
Allthebest, c4c5

I had the airbag light issue twice. The first time, they found a disconnected wire on the driver's seat. That fixed it for a while. The second time they replaced the entire air bag on the left side. All is well with it now.
