Visit to dealer for steering wheel lock
A few weeks ago iIgot a letter from GM on a service bulleten on the steering wheel lock. It said after the SB it would no longer lock. I took it to the local dealer and he looked it up and said this was an old SB that had already been done on my car. But I said the SB says the steering wheel would no longer lock after this was done and my steering wheel locks when it is turned off. He said we don't have this SB. I took him the SB from here on the forum (o4oo6C) and he said he did not know anything about it. He said he would go into their system and put the SB letter as done and I would not keep getting the SB. He kept my letter. So I still have a locking steering wheel and walked away uneasy and frustrated. Maybe I don't know what is going on but I do not feel very satisfied or comfortable with the dealers explaination. I had it lockup once a few months ago. I called the 800 number at the end of the SB and got the fax machine ring and no answer.
Thanks for letting get this frustration out of my system.

Your dealer sounds like he is out of the loop. He was wrong to put in the last SB (0400C6c) as "done" ... hope this doesn't cause you problems getting the final fix done if you want the column lock to be removed completely.
If it still locks, then they have not performed the last adjustment to it, which removes the locking plate.
Did you show him the complete PDF file that is linked to at the bottom of this page?

Tammy, I took him what was on the forum which showed what it was and a description of how the mechanic was to perform it. About 26 pages

You should post the dealer information so other Corvette owners can stay away from that dealership.
I would not return to that dealership for service.
Good luck.

Call customer service and let them know which dealer reported your recall being done without performing it. This will get their attention. The phone number is in your owners manual. You may need to get the DSM involved in your area. Don't give up, your problem needs to be taken care of immediately.
