    Default C5 error codes

Got a question. I just pulled the following error codes off my C5 and I was wondering what might be the problem that turned on the check engine light.
    1) P1416 AIR System Bank 2
    2) P1431 Fuel Level Sensor 2 Circuit Performance
    3) P1571 ASR Desired Torque
If anyone has any ides of what it might be. Please let me know! Thank you,
    Sam

    HI there,
First thing is first, I hope your a 97 due to the 1571 for the torque requested circuitry.
This is a normal condition on the 97, and should be disregarded as long as the code is an H for history.
Next, your 1416 indicates that the passenger side air injection check valve is rusted shut and should be replaced.
Next, your 1431 is for a fuel sensing unit that has a calibration concern.
The repair is to update the computer program for the engine.
So, with that, please specify the year, if I am incorrect.
Otherwise, diagnosis that I have listed stands.

    Default Slightly off the mark

but how DO you get the error code from a C5? C4c5 told me how to do this several months ago and I cannot find my notes.

    Default Thats great!

Well let me start out by saying thankyou so much for your help! You are 100% Correct. I have a 1997. Yet here is the thing. The 1571: I clear that out of the computer. And everytime I start the car it comes back. Is that still a normal thing for 1997s or could there be a real problem?
On the 1416: what does the "passenger side air injection check valve " Control, and what problems can I expect from this?
On the 1431: I just had both sending units replaced. So what I am thinking, from what you are saying is that the dealship did not update the computer. So its getting that error? Does that sound about right?
    once again! Thank you!

Default Vette Virgin this is from an earlier thread:

The following information is for reference only. Check the service manual for your particular model year of Corvette.

To enter the "diagnostic mode", use the following procedure:

1.Turn the ignition key to the ON position, but do not start the car.
2.Clear any pre-set messages by pressing the RESET button.
3.Hold the OPTIONS button down, and press the FUEL button 4 times. This will get you into the CODES section of the DIC. The computer will automatically display all the codes your car has created. It will cycle through each code every 3 seconds. Any code that ends in H is a code that was registered previously but is no longer an issue.
4.Once the computer has finished going through all of it's codes, press RESET to enter Manual Configuration mode. It should start with a module and show "NO CODES" or "# CODES".
5.To optionally reset the codes once in manual mode, press and hold RESET until it displays "NO CODES".
6.Press OPTIONS button to go to the next module.

Repeat these steps until you have reset the codes in all of the modules. Note: It is not necessary to reset the codes unless you want to.

    HI there,
Due to programming algorithms for the 97 model year, yes, this code will ALWAYS be there in H for history.
As for the injection check valve, the passenger side is located behind the intake manifold, and is about $25 for the valve and about $45 for the intake manifold gasket. Labor should be about 2 hours.
Yes, have them recheck the program for the computer.

    HI there,
I do not know if you can get them in the parts stores, I have never tried.
The GM part is about $25. You have to remove the intake manifold in order to get the passenger side out.

    Default Not availible in stores..

Sorry, the aftermarket does not stock these parts. You'll need to go to the dealer or http://www.gmpartsdirect.com

I saved $500 dollars on the dual climate control module that I bought from them over the retail $1072.00.
