Update on a lift that fits under a C5
Been shopping around for a lift to intstall in my pole barn.
Hoped to find one (2 post lift) that the lifting arms would fit under my C5 with lifting pads in place (4 3/4 inches) without having to drive the C5 up on 2x12's to get it high enough.
Looks like Bend Pak is the way to go.
2 post lift, can lift up to 10,000 lbs, $2295.00 (includes a set of truck adapters).....
Standard arms at the lowest point are suppsed to be 4 1/4" high.
They also have for $150.00 more a set of "low profile" lifting arms that are less then 4" high......
Just had the pole barn insulated........tube heater is coming, hope to have the lift installed ($300.00) by the end of October.
Will let you all know how it goes..........\
Thanks to all who replied on my earlier post on my search for a lift.......

Life's too short for boring cars!
A pole barn is a building that uses "pole" type construction when it is built. 6"X6" or 8"X8" poles are cemented in the ground about 8ft apart and the siding is then attatched to the poles. Very strong and cheaper then trying to build a buiding with a 12ft or 14ft ceiling using normal stud construction. Hope this helps.
Got it now, thanks!

If you look in the background you will see the "poles" on mine, someday I will finish insulating itthere are 2x4 framework attached to the poles at 24" intervals and the siding is attached to them. Quite common out here in the midwest, normally the "barn" is bigger then the house

Hi Greg. I have a Bend-Pak XL-9 for my tight, low ceiling garage. Since the arms are longer than the C5 frame points, I use guided rubber pucks. Arms easily fit under my lowered car. Lift has held up well. Just be sure to keep it greased.![]()
