Anyway to make lighter plug go on/off with ingnition?

Hi All,
I am plugging my radar detector into the lighter socket but I
have to unplug it or turn it off every time I turn my 02 Z06 off.

Is there a way to make it go on/off with the ignition?

A couple of things come to mind.

1. Get an adapter that allows you to connect to the wiring at the inside rear view mirror (if you have the powered mirror).

2. A relay setup to turn the accessory plug on and off with the ignition.

BTW, my first post. I agree with jdeatsch step one. I did this last week. It takes about 5-10 minutes tops. Now my detector comes on and goes off with the ignition. If interested I can shoot you the "how-to" instructions.
