Is that going to be a high gloss mettalic paint, or will it go with Chevys normal crylon Black. Cause the Ive seen both on the 94-6 Impala SS and the mettalic really sets off that sinister look that it has.

Mag Red is still available in 2002, but is gone for 2003; probably because the Anniversary color will be similar.

Dealer ordering information on the 2003 50th Anniversary Corvette will be released April 12. Stay tuned.

Here's an unconfirmed update:

50th Anniversary Color is RPO 94U - Anniversary Red with a Shale interior (code 154). The steering wheel and dash color are also the same Shale color. The new 50th roof code will be 54T.

Two Tone light neutral/gray interior for the 50th. The interior will have no black and will have the same two tone effect light neutral/grey on the door panels.

50th Anniversary shifter knob is Tan/ neutral along with the shifter boot.

Special 50th badging on the car and seats. This will include special badging on the 2003 Z06.

The 50th Anniversary model may have gold color wheels, that are similar to the discontinued magnesium wheel color. These wheels will be the same style as the high polished rim, with a brushed or matte finish.

Other new 2003 color's are Black Metallic and Gray Shale Metallic.

Magnetic Red II is discontinued for 2003.

No Horsepower Changes for the 2003 Z06 or other models.

It has not been confirmed on whether or not chrome wheels may debut on the 2003 Z06 as an option.

Tec-Tronic Automatic Suspension (Automatic Load Leveling with Auto Adjust) will debut on the 2003 coupes and convertibles as an option. No word on if this will be available with or replace the Z51 or F45.

The 2003 4160 automatic transmission is being updated to the 4160E specifications to take 450 lb/ft of torque.

A possible new rear facia and hood are on hold.

Larger tires are rumored for the coupe and convertible but not confirmed.

Commemorative 2003 Corvette 50th Anniversary Package Distribution Plan

For the 2003 Model Year, the Chevrolet Corvette will offer a special 50th Anniversary package, to commemorate 50 years with America's favorite sports car! This package will be allocated in two phases:

PHASE I

* All Corvette dealers of record as of March 1, 2002 will be allocated one 50th Anniversary Corvette package in the FIRST 2003 MY consensus cycle. These vehicles are consented to in a new allocation group - VET50.

* If a dealer does not consent to their 50th Anniversary package in this phase, their allocation will not be redistributed to other dealers, but will default into that dealer's regular Corvette allocation later in the 2003 Model Year.

* Vehicles consented to in this phase will be considered "normal Corvette allocation". If a dealer who normally earns one Corvette per year requests a 50th Anniversary package Corvette in this cycle, the 50th Anniversary Corvette will be that dealer's one Corvette for the year.

PHASE II

* All remaining vehicles will be allocated to certified Corvette dealers based on their 52-week retail Corvette sales, as recorded on March 1, 2002. This final allocation will be divided into months based on the production schedule requirements.

* The monthly breakdown determined above will be loaded into VOMS so that dealers will be able to view their allocation for the current month plus one outlook month (i.e. in April, a dealer will be able to see their April and May allocation).

* If a dealer does not consent to his 50th Anniversary allocation in this phase, it will be redistributed to deserving dealers through the variance resolution process. The dealer will effectively LOSE that allocation, as it will not be rolled into a future month of regular Corvette allocation.

Ordering information should be available for the 50th Anniversary package via the On-line Ordering Guide or GM Auto Book on or before Monday, April 15.
