I finally installed the Z06 shifter in my C5.
OMG!!! It didn't turn my humble C5 into a screaming Z06!!!

What it did do is shorten the shift throw and make the shifts smoother. Even my wife noticed that I was making smoother shifts. I'm not sure the shifter itself is the whole reason, though. When I pulled the old one out the rubber isolator on the bottom came out in pieces. I suspect it was deteriorated and letting the shifter move around just a little. The new shifter seems more solid and crisper. In any event, I'm happy with the result.
