My Corvette(s): 2001 Z51 navy blue metallic coupe | P0442 code
Hello to all my Corvette family and enthusiests. I have an 01 coupe, and while driving today, the check engine light came on. So I pulled the codes (thank you Patrick for posting a how-to) and came up with a code that I didn't see on the list of codes that are available. The code is P0442. I have a broken tire pressure sensor that gets replaced on Monday, could this be my code? Thanks, c5havin. remember the wave .

I think that code is a leak detected in the evaporative emissions system

Hello everyone! Several weeks ago I was fueling up, got the tank full, and noticed a fuel leak just in front of the drivers rear tire. Since then I have only been putting in 12 gallons of gas so as not to leak fuel until I can get to it. (I am having shoulder soon). Could this leak be triggering my P0442 code? Should have mentioned this sooner, but you know what they say about age and memory !Thanks. mark. remember the wave | |

Like I almost said, I am having shoulder surgery in a few days , so maybe I get to it afterwards. It hasn't affected the drivability of the car, and if it weren't for the heads up display, that check engine icon would drive me nuts . Thanks again for the info. I took off the fuelcap and poked at the valve in the top of the cap a couple of times, then re-installed it, cleared the code, and now have no more trouble code. I have heard of the code popping up again days, even weeks later, but so far, so good. thanks for the help . mark. remember the wave !
