My Corvette(s): 2004 Arctic White Coupe | Zaino - my first experience on my 2004
I applied Zaino for the first time today to my White 2004. I washed the car with Dawn last night to get it all ready for my big day today. I used Z2 with ZFX. It was real easy to mix the two solutions.
I started at 8:00 AM and applied my first coat. The first coat was a little tough to put on. The hardest part was figuring how much to put on. It looks like you're hardly applying anuthing, especially on a white car. I actually think I may have used too little on my first coat (about 3/4 of an ounce).
After removing my first coat of Z2 with my 100% cotton towel I applied a coat of Z6. Again a little tricky on how much to use. I followed the instructions and used it sparingly. The first coat of Z2 and Z6 took about an hour. The car looked alright after the first coat. I wasn't sold yet.
I then applied my second coat of Z2 which went on much easier. Again I followe dup with Z6. The car now was beginning to come alive! Thsi took another hour.
The thrid coat of Z2 and Z6 went on and came off real easy. After the third coat the paint finish was extremely smooth and even with a white car there was a ncie depth and deepness to the car. It almost looked kind of wet.
After the third coat was applied I was very happy with my decision. As I've read many times the more coats you out on the better. Another 3 coats and the car will be like wet glass. I'm very impressed with this product. The hardest part was applying the polsih to a white car. It really goes on with a thin coat but it works! Make sure to put on a few coats.

I purchased it from Carl at the following web site. His service is great. I ordered it on a Tuesday afternoon and it arrived the next day. Carl is alos very helpful and he'll answer any questions you have about the product. http://www.hcvind.com/

Thanks,
If anyone wants a great convertible top cleaner try "Rag Top". (Buy Online) I used it a couple of weeks ago and it worked great. It comes with a cleaner and a protectant in the kit. It is a squirt it on, let it sit for 20 min. and rinse it off, let dry and spray on the protectant. Great stuff...

Hey, Irf.... Zaino's great....there is no doubt about it. But I've got a personal caveat to attach: If it ain't an ease going on, it ain't an ease coming off. In essence, I look for time-saving measures and Zaino ain't one of them. The Zaino result is, doubtlessly, beautiful....but if you can basically get the same result from something "easier," why would ya, honestly, waste the time. I understand some peeps truly enjoy the time with their baby, but I truly don't have the time myself. I'm a Meguiar's user - having gone from Zaino-to-Meguiars-to-Zaino-back-to-Meguiars. After the novelty of the Zaino steps have worn off, give Meguiar's NXT system a try. Try it...you may like it. I sure do!!
Disclaimer: YMMV
Mary

The Zaino website suggested using "Dawn" household soap only one time prior to using Zaino. I believe it removes any old wax buildup you may have. You should not use hosuehodl detergent ona regular basis. Only once prior to using Zaino

Hi Mary,
I've heard good things about Meguiars NXT system as well. I'm thinking of giving it a try on my Volvo coupe. The Volvo doesn't get babied like the Vette

You can use 3M Adhesive and Wax remover to remove the wax from your car with no problems.

My Corvette(s): 2002 Torch Red Coupe | Zaino is great stuff!
I have been using Zaino products for that past 2 years. I started using it with my Honda S2000 from the time it was new. When I traded in my S2000 for my 2002 Torch Red Coupe, the S2000 did not have a single swirl mark. The paint literally looked new. I immediately went to work on the 2002 Coupe with the Zaino products. Although I have not been able to remove the swirl marks, the paint looks vastly better than when I took possession. The best part about the Zaino products is that it makes keeping the car clean a lot easier. Quote: |
