    Default LS1 question

    A friend of mine just bought an LS1 crate engine, and it has what looks to be some sort of "port" right above the oil filter, but it is blocked off. What is this for? Oil temp sender?

    Hi there,
    Yes, it is the opening for the temperature sensor.
    Although, you will also have to get the small adapter that the sensor screws into.
