    Default Clutch Alignment Tool

Anybody know where I can get a clutch/pressure plate alignment tool for the re-installation of my clutch ('91)?

The OEM clutch and pressure plate assembly that I got from the local GM dealer didn't come with one. I expected it to include one of those plastic, splined, alignment tools. When I asked the parts guy at the dealership about it he said GM doesn't include such tools in their kits. So I asked how the guys in the shop align the clutches they install. He said he didn't know. Thanks for going that extra mile buddy.

Your local parts store should have it. I remember back in the day wittling down a broom stick.

I'm putting a Centerforce clutch in my 85 next week. If you have not found an alignment tool by then let me know...I'll be glad to send you the plastic tool I have.

    TriTown,

Thank you very much for the offer. I plan to check a couple auto parts stores on Monday. If I don't have any luck, I'll let you know.

If you know anyone with a 26 spline (The ZF is 26, right?) input shaft from any transmission hanging around then use that. I use a spare T-10 shaft and it is way more accurate than the little hard plastic condoms you get at the store.
