Sounds like a great reason to go drive the Vette. You could always just go for a long, long drive!!!!![]()
Odometer Roll FORWARD for 1985
Greetings boys and girls: Ok, for the sake of arguement, those that post a reply about issues surrounding the legality of, tampering with, the morals of "Tampering with an odometer", flying unicorns and the DMV... I AGREE WITH YOU!
With that... I seek some insight into the best way of Rolling FORWARD my current odometer module in my digital dash.... is there an easy way to do so after pulling the dash out, or, should I simply try to locate a replaced module with the correct mileage?

Check with a speedo repair shop.
It's been a long time since mine was out, but I recall that the odo part detaches from the cluster. Isn't it gear driven from a small motor?

The ododmeter is a seperate unit, and must be changed over when replacing the digital cluster.
As for the feasibility of rolling a new one forward, I guess you could do it with an electric signal generator. Someone knowledgeable in that arena would be more helpful than I.![]()
Yes,, I thought I might get some curiousity smiles from some on this one... indeed as never thought I would never need advice on something like this. Here's the story; Several years ago... someone had stolen my digital dash... yep... the whole thing! So along with replacing the trim plate, center trimplate and some other interior parts, I also replaced the dash from a wrecking yard. The odometer module was attachhed but has always been about 13k off at 64,000 miles. Now, I guess you could call me a moral kinda' guy and I want it to be right which should be roughly 77,000 miles. Suppose I could finally take it on a long drive indeed but with my new '04.... I kinda' lost the desire to drive it much anymore and just want to store it... especially after all the $$$$$ I've soaked into it... you know?!
This is a hoot! We repair C-4 clusters daily & I have only seen about 10% with an unmolested odometer. Email me and we'll set yours for FREE, plus $1.00 postage
Really? You're TOO kind... would really like to give you something for your time at least...?! I have no idea if this one has ever been messed with or not as I got it from a wrecking yard... ! I'll send ya an e mail!
