1985 Vette Engine Missing and Surging
Some time ago I posted a thread concerning my Vette having a engine miss and surging, especially around the 900-1100 RPM. This seem to be a problem with many C_4. I had planned on checking the fuel pressure, had changed the sparkplugs, rotor, dist cap, and sparkplug wires to no avale, still had the problem. Finally thinking about when this condition started, I remember replacing with a new battery, well now to make a long story short, I removed the positive and neg cables, cleaned them both very well, noticing some build up on the positive cable connection, finally cleaned the neg engine block
connection, reconected a separate # 10 wire from the battery to the frame and from the frame to the engine. Guess what, I no longer have a miss and most all of my problem seem to have gone away. Now there must be an explanation from you experts that can shead some light on this, explain. This has prevented me from having to scope the engine, possibly replacing the EGR, injectors, etc, etc.
