Ok so I spelled the first word wrong. Sorry. I am trying to find out if anyone has had any problems with injectors that would cause the engine to S H U D D E R. We thought that installing the new Opti-spark might correct the problem but it hasn't. I was just looking for some information and was trying to respond in a cute way but unfortunately misspelled my reply while in a hurry.

Default Congrats that she's home...

...sorry about your continued problem.

Is the shuddering the engine making the entire vehicle shake? Could that be a timing issue? (I am not familiar with injected/computerized cars)

It's just a little shuddering. The whole vehicle doesn't shake. It seems to occur between 59-63 mph and only when you are gratually accelerating. Punch it and its fine. I am going to continue to research it and wait until may March to address it. Right now I only have a few more weeks to drive her and I don't want her in for repairs now. I think I going to check out what happens when the injectors start going bad and go from there. Just hope it's nothing more serious.

Thanks,

Donna

Sorry, I didn't mean anything by it. Just trying to be funny and it didn't come off that way.

How much have you driven it since the Optispark was changed? It can take a few miles for the computer to "recalibrate" itself after the battery has been disconnected. I know a couple of times I've thought I had created a different problem when trying to fix one.

I take it that it was doing this before the Optispark went out as well? How long has it been doing this?

I know I'm asking more questions than giving answers, but it is hard for everyone to offer opinions without more details.

Keep posting and someone is bound to be able to help.

Well, there goes my theory. I thought it may have been an out of balanced tire.

Don't worry wasn't offended. More frustrated. We drove it about 50-75 miles. But this problem existed before the Opti-Spark was replaced. We thought that after replacing it, the shuddering would be eliminated but not so. Gordon Kilibrew mentioned injectors to my husband so will continue to look into that. Will talk our mechanic this morning (we work together) and let him know. Otherwise it is a great improvement changing the Opti-spark. She has 81,000 miles and I don't think the previous owner really cared that much about her except to drive her occasionally. Not like us. I want her to be the best.

Thanks,

Donna
