Updating sound system need some help

Hey,
Like i said in my topic, im kind of new 2 all the audio soundsystem stuff (i know alittle but not alot). I have a friend in Jap, which can get me my soundsystem cheap and all of the new stuff i want 2 (i live in australia), but the only problem is i have no idea wat the hell 2 get

The system will be for a c4 1988 corvette.
I think i will go for all ///Alpine as i was told they r the best.
I want 2 have 4subs (or 2 for start), mp3 deck and maybe a Tv screen or other deck which will have all the readings and poopie Like and equalizer. and i know i will need an amp but thats where it stops can someone help me out with wat the best system will be i want a LOUD system with good bass (as i like hard-house and engery which is alot of bASS)

Installion will not be a problem as me and my oldman will do that.

So can anyone give me some infomation of the best system 2 get (i want a competele system Amp(s),deck,speaker(s),Sub(s) ect)

P.s after the system is install will i have room 4 2 nos bottles?

It sounds like you want to go crazy with this system.

You'll probably need to get an electical schematic in order to gut the sound system. There are a bunch of things that are connected all around the car that are integrated into the stereo. I know there're independant amps for each speaker.

If you already have the car, pull the glove compartment out of the storage area behind the passenger seat and look at how much room is down in there. You may be able to fit some good amps or a small sub in there. there's also more room behind the driver's seat under the trunk-platform. If you don't have the car yet, you should wait until you get it so that you can see the space you have. It's pretty tight.

Yeap crazy!!! yeah i have the car, i don't think room is really a problem i have seen some nice system in c4 and they all fit. By the looks of it i will have 2 drop the nos idea and just keep the SUB idea

How sold are you on just Alpine. because if you want to shake the whole island then you could consider either some nice kicker or JL Audio Subs. Kicker has a sub I'm not sure if it is on sale yet but it is rate at 5000watts RMS and 10,000watts Peak. It is the 18" SoloX Sub. You won't have to worry about traction problems if you put a couple of these in the car, because they weigh in at 100lbs each. You'll need a huge amp for it but JL has one that is something like 3200watts so you get a couple of those and bridge them together and you'd have some serious power. Hope that gives you some crazy ideas.

I just bought new speakers and amplifiers for my '84. From MAD.
And the system works fine. No problems.

Don't forget about your alternator. If you are going to pump out some serious wattage you will probably need to replace the alternator to handle the current requirements.

Eventually I couldnt take bose anymore so i did this:
I replaced the 6x9s and the door speakers with kickers, Along with kickers for the dash (but i didnt find out till later that the speakers were fake on the dash, so we cut the dummie out). As for subs i have 2 12 inch kicker L7s with an audiobahn 1200w. The box fits so perfectly in my hatch, i can still access storage units, i can fit my targa top over it still, as well as the tarp. Then i have the amp bolted on the back of the subs. Lets not forget the tweeters that i have hung.

Its not easy, all wiring must be replaced as bose uses different technology. I got my local Best Buy to do it for $300, but they worked hours. I dropped it off first thing in the morning and got it back the following night.

It was an expensive system, but i got everything brand new off ebay for nearly half the price. The sound is so awesome its overwhelming. Hell, if you want to see exactly what i got, let me know, i have all the links saved.. somewhere.

Oh yeah, the head unit: it fits perfectly, i made sure of that. Pioneer cd player... i woulda got the mp3 version but it was like $500!

i have all the speakers hooked up to the headunits, but i plan to get a smaller amp for them sometime in the future, i have only the subs hooked to the amp. They hit hard, too much for the fiberglass body ^_^

Anyone know of a subwoofer that would fit in the back of a 95 convertible, with the top up or down? I was thinking maybe a powered bazooka 6.5" may fit. I think its Alpine that makes an all in one powered 7" woofer but I'm kinda sceptical on how this would sound. I've installed many audio systems before, but this is my first Vette. Are all the hookups for power and audio under that back storage compartment. I think I saw them there, where my disc changer connects at. Are those 6x9's in the back deck area? I'll be replacing those soon too. If any of you have experience with this I'd appreciate you sharing.

Soul, there is a lot to making the system deliver; component choice being anly a start. The Bose wiring is rather light, as it only delivers a pre-amp level voltage to the amps, built into each speaker box. A traditional amp/speaker setup will demand different, and quality wire, at the db levels you seek.

Consider amplifier cooling, too, if you intend to put them in the storage boxes. Power supply wires of adequate size will need to be snaked in aside from any alternator, and possible battery change. Heck, the stock Bose, cranked up, whould drain, visibly, power from my headlights with thumping bass.

Not being a Bose fan of ANY degree, I am shopping too, but will go with a shop's professional install; a shop that has done a killer Vette install before. I've done a lot of radio/stereo work over the years, but what you and I seek, drives me to a pro.

My current C-4 runs a Clarion head unit through stepup pre-amps, to the stock Bose speakers. Once other bugs are out of this custom drivetrain, non-engine music is next.
