    Default Climate control buttons

Can anyone tell me why the buttons on the electronic climate control panel don't always light up? The system works fine otherwise. Problem is that MOST of the time the buttons don't light. Thanks.

Mine are the same way. Some times they work properly, most of the time not. When I asked about it, the replies I got were that the unit probably needed to be removed, taken apart, and clean the contacts. It may need to just be replaced but to start with cleaning it. I have not been frustrated with it enough yet to take it out, so just living with it for now.

Something interesting I've noticed with mine....

Sometimes the buttons don't work. If I press the off button, then turn it back on then they will work sometimes.

Also, sometimes I have to turn off the car, then turn it back on and they will work.

So this makes me think that it could be some kind of firmware error in the computer that controls it or something, like bad programming. It sort of just locks up in a funny mode.

Sometimes my temp buttons don't work, then I'll press the fan speed buttons and then the temp buttons work again. Sometimes it won't go into automatic mode unless I press a temp button first.

It's really weird. Most of the time it works fine, though.

    Thanks for the input.

What I am experiencing is the lights WITHIN the buttons don't always light up. I have seen them light once, so I know they should.

The indicator light ABOVE the buttons works fine, although I have had some of the same thing you guys are talking about too.

I am wondering about a loose wire or perhaps a loose fuse?
