    Default Power seat problem/93 coupe

My passenger power seat is not moving forward or back, just makes noise. If I push it while moving the control it will move. Is the motor shot? or is it just off the track or something? Thanks in advance for any help.

Had a Ford van that did that, pretty sure the gears wore out. Sold it so I can't tell for sure but if it's got power what else would it be. Probably plastic gears.

Same problem with mine (pilot seat) I'm sure it must be plastic gears. Maybe somebody here knows if there's a kit or some way to fix it instead of buying the whole rebuilt power seat track!

    jtcfd,

    It's easy, 4 nuts and 2 or 3 elec conn's. On 1 to 5 scale of hardness, I'd say 1.5 to 2.

You should then be able to replace the gear ass'm. They're probably not cheap. Try Chris @ Superior or GMPARTS direct or a junk yard, low miles wreck should yield a part. Ck the new prices first, some yards charge way too much for salvage parts.

Power train warranty only. Removing the seat doesn't sound too hard, thanks

I'm trying to remove my drivers side seat but unable to move the power seat forward so I can gain access to the back 2 nuts. Anyone know how to manually move the seat up? If so, please drop me a note. Thanks for any info.. Dan

You could try applying 12v dc to the motor directly. If it's the sw that's broken that'll work. Don't know which color wires though, be careful
