90 Manual Shift Knob How to remove?
The leather knob on my shifter needs replacement.
I have tried to unscrew it counter clock wise.
However, no luck. Any info would be greatly apreciated.

Gone but not forgotten
I don't think it matters whether it's an automatic or manual transmission equipped car of which you speak, but they should both have the same procedure for removal.
First, gently pry the shift-pattern indicator button off the knob. Inside you will see a metal wedge that prevents the shift knob from turning; remove this wedge by pulling it out of its slot. The knob should be ready for removal at this point--I don't think you have any other items to remove the knob, but I could be wrong seeing as how I do not have a '90 Corvette.

Has a Lock ring at the base of the shift knob ( internally) I would assume that sticks were the same...I cant imagine the General making different knobs... different top plates...yes but knobs??????
