Thread: 1986 conv a/c fan out, fuses good

Default 1986 conv a/c fan out, fuses good

Has anybody changed a fan, motor or possibly a relay in the circut. Where is the fan for the a/c? How about a relay for the fan. A/C compressor kicks on when selected but no fan air comes out even when vent air selected. Any help would be appreciated.

Default Were talking the A/C blower fan correct?

It is a manual control unit. I don't know where the blower moter is located and if there is a relay involved in the system. Thanks!

    Default Locations

The blower motor is located on pass side under hood Just over the windsheild squirter resivoir.

The Blower resistors ( for speed control ) are located on the TOP of the blower shroud near firewall Connectors facing up 4 pin connector.

The blower relay is on top of the shroud as well Just above blower motor.

    Check GROUND on motor FIRST.

The 25 amp fuse in box provides power to everything EXCEPT the HI blower.

    Fusible link K does that

Check if you have power at the Blower relay

Pin A Red ( Power from Link K) Batt power
Pin C Blue ( Feed from blower resistors )
Pin D Orange ( Pull relay IN for Hi speed)
    Pin F Black ( Ground )
    Pin E Purple ( + line to motor )

    Blower resistors
    Pin A Yellow
( Feed from speed sw assy Low)
    Pin C Tan
( Feed from speed sw assy Med )
    Pin D Lt Blue
( Feed from speed sw assy Med-Hi)
    Pin B Dark Blue
Feed to Blower realy ( Output to Pin C of Blower relay)
