    Default C4 with fender flares?

I've seen tons of C3 with fender flares but does anyone have pictures of C4's with them?

the only c4s ive ever seen with fender flares are the 96grand sports.
i think the reason you dont see the molded in wide fender flares on c4s is the beltline moldings on them. i would think it would be hard to make it look right with that molding in the middle of the body.
just my guess.... i could be wrong

Yes, I can see what you mean, I guess that's why the ZR1's have the whole rear flared.

Does anyone know if the doors, rear quarter panels and bumper of the ZR1 can be mounted on a standard C4 with out modification?

check out ZFDoc's web site. he has a stock 'vette with a ZR1 body.

Fitting one to a 'vert though... that is a whole new can o' worms

There are two (ZR1 converts) sitting in the NCM. One was a specially built (obviously) 89 vert with a super special paint job. Just saw them yesterday while at CruiseFest.

are they wide bodied? I thought the ones GM built for testing were regular bodies. I have heard of a wide bodied vert out there, but never seen any pics

Hi Guys, The ZR-1's body is flared from the A-pillars to the back of the car. The door skins and the fenders are wider than the rest of the C4's body parts in the same locations. I think it's 1.5" at the rear on each side. They wanted to mostly cover the 315's @ the rear. In order to make it look okay they started with thicker door skins and a different rocker panel and thicker rear fenders.

You could mount all those pieces on a regular C4 but ZR-1 body parts are NLA from GM. I'm a rookie Z owner so I don't know of anyone making replacement body parts. I don't think anyone is at the moment.

I thought I took a picture of the one (89) from the rear, but I guess I didn't because i couldn't find it, but I think it did have the wide body. It darn sure covered the 17 x 11's and 315's. The other one I just don't remember, there are so many cars there.

Ok, while I was at the NCM I bought the book "The Heart of the Beast" and I just got through reading it. On page 171 it talks about the DR-1 Convertible and a picture of it as well, this is the one I was thinking about at the museum, only now sitting in the museum it is a different color. Anyway the picture shows that it is indeed a wide body car. I was pretty sure when I looked at it in the museum it was, but this picture verifies what I thought.

Yup, that's it. She is sitting in a different location now, but that the one. She is a beaut... I wouldn't mind having it sitting in my garage!
