WHile some aftermarket vendors supplied wings w./ the word CORVETTE embossed into the sides, no rear wing was ever offered as a RPO (option)
There was a dealer installed "GTO" kit howver, that kit uses a kamm-tail instead of a wing
I hope this helps![]()
factory rear wing?
Was a factory rear wing a special order option in 85? My vette has a rear wing that has the word CORVETTE made in each end of it. Was it a limited number option. I've not seen any others locally that has it.
...no wings from Bowling Green

A rear wing was never a factory option. They're all aftermarket.
A wing with 'Corvette' molded in on the end sounds like a Greenwood wing. Greenwood made a variety of ground effects kits. All were aftermarket but I would think that Greenwood kits could have been installed by dealers.
Not to hijack this thread, but what is a kamm-tail??Originally Posted by *89x2*

thanks, everyone. I think mine may be the greenwood wing.
I also have a small/thin wing that was made at Eckler that has Corvette on it. I know its from Eckler because I assembled the wing loooooooong ago when I used to work for them. Does your wing look like this one on my car? God, I need to get some new pictures of her. She looks better than this with the ZR1 wheels.

Thanks, she's my baby! All 9500 original miles of her. I need to get some pictures of her with the polished ZR1 wheels..........11's with 315's in the back. BTW, those wings were available from Eckler long ago......I worked there from '89-'93.Originally Posted by craig0ry
With the option codes it looks like the estimated "uniqueness" of the car is 1 of 12 out of a total production of 35,109. I love my car. The "uniqueness" is based on actual production figures and percentages from the "Corvette Black Book". These pictures were taken 8 months ago and those are the ORIGINAL Goodyear Gatorbacks in the pictures and I still have the mounted on the rims.
It's sickening how awesome that car is
