Yellow Paint

Was wondering if anyone is knowledgeable, or has a ready reference, about the Yellow paint applied to the C4's.

In particular, '87, '88, '89 all had Yellow coded 35 and named "Corvette Yellow". 1989's Yellow was code 53, Competition Yellow. Then in '91 and '92 Chevrolet went back to Corvette Yellow code 35, and from '93 on it again became Competition Yellow code 53. Is this an example of the General's grand marketing scheme?? LOL

Colors are routinely changed. Bright red/torch red.... torch red/victory red.... competition yellow/corvette yellow/millenium yellow. Pigments typical will change with name.
