What are the specs for a stock L98 cam for the 88' model year?

How far can this cam go?

My 1995 GM Performance Parts book says .403 / .415 and 202 / 206 @ .050

Camshafts work in conjunction with the heads and induction. Normally, the heads are the limiting factor. The duration will move the power band around, but peak numbers will basicly stay the same.

What I'm trying to do is build low end torque, power under the 4500rpm band. If I were to do the heads and everything but the cam, do you think it would be stout as an everyday driver? Stock L98's have 340 ft. lbs. but I'm shooting for more than 400 ft. lbs.

Everything else like heads, headers, 1.6 roller rockers, large tube runners, ported intake, ported plenum.

Just so happens, I'm in process of building a 383 for the '95. Will use all the stock induction and cam. Will bowl port the stock heads. I expect power band to be same as ; or a little lower than factory; with an increase of 30-60 ft. lbs.,with the same for HP.
Not increasing inches , means you need better volumetric effiency. Increase port velocity with intake and heads.

If it is going to be apart.. put a better cam in it..
