Default Main Door Seal Replacement

I have a 1987 coupe and I'm looking to replace the main door seals. My question would be whether it's necessary to remove the door panels to accomplish this job?

I noticed you were not getting a response in the restoration forum so I moved this post to the C4 Forum.

not completely but you do have to drop it down a good bit to access the retainers

I replaced these on my 1987 a few years back (when I still owned it). If I recall, you just need to remove those screws on both sides of the top, and then it is clipped in with plastic clips and weatherstripping glue. I did not remove the door panels. The door stripping is pretty easy to replace. The window seal, though, does require removing the panel. I assume you mean the big piece that runs around 3/4 of the door?
