My Corvette(s):
1985 White Coupe
Default Production number question

I read somewhere that there were only 82 vettes produced in 1985 with the economy rear ratio 2.73. The upgrade to the performance rear was $22. I have my original window sticker and there is no charge for the performance rear upgrade. Does that mean I have one of the 82 with the economy rear ratio? Any help would be wonderful.

My restoration guide shows that in 82 there was two rear ratios. 2.72:1 was posi with standard wheels and 2.87:1 posi with alumium wheels.

My message states that there were 82 cars made with the economy axle ratio in 1985 not the year 1982. Sorry for the confusion.

I don't think there would be a charge reflected in your choice of optional rear end ratios, the cost was the same if I'm not mistaken. Your build sheet should indicate by code which ratio your car was originally equipped. Your window sticker won't show that option.

The code for a performance axle ratio was G92, with the code for the 3.07:1 ratio being G44.
