ML9 or MN6 manual trans difference

What is the difference between the ML9 and MN6 manual transmissions?

Seeing as how this is in the C4 forum, I assume you mean a transmission option code for that generation, correct?

I can't however, find a reference to ML9 anywhere. If it's equipped with the Z-51 package, that may have something to do with it. My build sheet for instance, lists a MK2 along with the MM4 code for a four-speed manual transmission. I know we've discussed this before, but I cannot remember the answers now.

Don't know if this helps, but my build sheet has the ML9 next to 6SPD MAN TRAN. Mine is a '93 without the Z51. Goodluck.

I had carfax run on this 96 CE we are traveling across the country to see this week. In the report it listed the options. Both of the option codes ML9 and MN6 are listed in the report. I was wondering what the difference is.

Why GM chooses to have two codes for its manual transmissions is beyond me. As you can see, that's not all that has duplicate coding.
