Starter Question

Just installed a Delco re-built starter on my 78 L 82 and the car starts fine without any noise at start up. About a second after start up I can hear the starter making a whrrrrr sound. Do I need to shim the starter or is this a common noise?

I can tell ya it's not a common noise. Someone here that's more techincally inclined in that area will supply you a possible cause/solution. I do recall though hearing a lot about shim issues with the starters...
