Default '77 Hood clearance

Does anyone know of a replacement hood or how to modify a stock '77 hood to work as the old cowl induction units circa '70 Chevelle? A sealed air cleaner base to a functional opening in the hood.... open air induction would help my underhood "hot air" to the carb problem but would like to keeo the rear seal on the hood functional . Any thoughts????

If you figure this one out without too much Bubba, I would like to see it.

I don't know what a '70 Chevelle hood looks like but have you thought about just using a stock L-82 cowl induction hood and air cleaner base ? Leaves the rear hood seal in place. Sounds like what you're talking about.
good luck

I think you might be looking for something similiar to what was found on the late C2's and possbly some early C3's. Check with 67Heaven. I think he may have what you are talking about. Here is a picture of his setup.
