    Default Help.....Brain Fart....quick timing question

I am having a brain fart right now and I cannot remember which way to turn the distributor to retard the timing. I am thinking that it should be rotated counterclockwise. The car is a 1970 w/ 454 and a small-cap HEI igntion.

    Thanks.

use your timing light and which ever way brings it closer to 0 deg is retarding.

Clockwise as the distributor rotates clockwise.
