    Default A/C VIR/Accumulator/Dryer

Any suggestions on how to access/remove/replace the VIR in a 1972 Corvette? I thought the VIR was only in 1973 and older Vettes, but when I went to replace my compressor and dryer I discovered I did not have a dryer up near the radiator but instead have the VIR in the back near the firewall. In looking at it last night, it looked like it would be extremely difficult getting to the VIR as I don't even see the screws or nuts that I assume hold the VIR straps to the car. If I remove the honeycomb side vent on the car behind the wheel will I have better access to the VIR or do I just need to tackle from the top and bottom of the engine compartment. Any advise -- thanks!

Do you have the assembly instruction manual (AIM)? The AIM will show the installation of the optional factory AC system.

I thought 68-72 were all POA.

That's what I thought also. AFAIK the VIR debuted on the '73.
