Still have the one available
1978 Original antenna
I have an original PW antenna w/o CB. I have replaced the mast and now the antenna works in reverse. Turn the radio on and the antenna goes down. Turn the radio off and the antenna goes up. I have reassembled the antenna a few times and all looks correct. I have ordered a relay but if that does not fix it I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated.
Wow, you really did take it apart.
Looks like you removed the two wires that go to the brushes that the armature spins on(under the round housing).
Did you put them back on the same way?
Your taking about the motor. I was thinkg about doing that too. I'll switch it an let you know. Does anyone sell the contacts? Mine look to be coming off the wire soon.
Thanks very much for your advice.
well that did it. I switched the two wires into the motor an now it works correctly.
does anyone make new wiring harnesess? mine were pretty brital. I'm sure they may break in a few years.
thanks again for your help.
Pretty much just gotta find some lengths of the correct color wires and do some soldering.
I HAD about 10' of each but I've pretty much gone through it.
