    Default 1968 Vette Convertable-Engine Vin# Location ??

    Good morning all~ I'm getting ready to sell my 1968 Corvette Convertable (Vin # 194678S424897) & have found the body Vin # by the side wipers but don't know where the engine Vin is?? I'm sure this will make a difference if these match?? What exactly does this mean & what do I need to look for? THanks for any info. of related help! Deanne

    The engine VIN derivative and engine assembly code are located on a flat, narrow pad directly in front of the passenger side cylinder head on the block. Having the original engine in a car is important to some buyers. It can't hurt.

    Pad on the block at the front of the right side head. 74 shown; 68 will be similar. If you need to clean the pad in order to see the stamps, do not use abrasives.

    Thank you sooo much..found it exactly where your picture showed & the Vin # s match..I'm thinking about selling my Vette,because I really never drive it-it's not exactly a everyday car to drive.Thanks again>Panda !
