well, it is....but I am after more clearance for the fat guy that drives it....so got a steering column that is about 1 inch shorter as well as modifying the lower tach area about 2 inches, will pick up a total of 3 inches....if I was still built like you, I wouldnt have to worry about it.....

I'm not sure I understand the question. The steering gears in my steering box are worn. I thought there may be an already re-built or "in good shape" complete box out there that I could swap in. My alternative is to take mine out and get it re-built but that means the car is down for a time. I drive my 62 all the time. As well, I'm now hearing the complete rebuild kits are back-ordered to late January (Paragon) and even March (Corvette Central).
