By the way, I can tell you that this is a very rare emblem.

Is it the Canadian version of the El Camino (I don't remember what they were called) that they only made about 5 of? (Well.....maybe not 5, but relatively few with the 427 option that year)

Well, Andy. There was no Canadian version of the El Camino, but there was a GMC version (available in both our countries) called the Sprint.

http://www.chevelles.com/sprint/

Although the Sprint did get the 454 (as an option), it never got the 427, and since the Sprint didn't show up until 1971, is further disqualified because we've narrowed the search down to 1969.

Good try though, and you are closer than you may think after reading what I typed above.

Yep, the Sprint was what I was thinking about. Very limited numbers with the big blocks.

Warmer.......much warmer........but like the Sprint, the Beaumont never got the 427 either. 396 - yes; 454 - yes. 427 - no.

Sorry, Andy. Here's what the 1969 full-size Chevy 427 emblem looked like.

Summary of hints:

1969
Canadian connection
Not Impala (nor any other full-sized Chevy)
Not GMC Sprint
Beaumont is closest guess yet.
