$100 a barrel oil
T Boone Pickins has predicted $100 a barrel oil by the end of the year and yesterday the price broke $92
..at that price, it will equal the inflation-adjusted price from the mid seventies oil crunch which put the global economy into a recession
...i will still feed my corvettes whatever they need to keep them happy but i anticipated the rise in oil prices by selling my v6 daily driver (27mpg highway) for a 4 banger (44mpg highway best ever, usually around 39+)..
...any thoughts on the impact of $100+ barrel oil on you?
...also, i'm convinced that hybrids are a bad investment, E85 is a consumer rip off (until they figure out how to ferment the stalks, not just the kernels) and the only way to go in the future is diesel since we now have the low sulfur fuel here and the EU diesels are outstanding performers....any one know if the japs or koreans are going to start offering new generation diesels in their vehicles over the next few years?

I find it so odd that the price of gas is way lower this year with record high prices for a barrel than they were this time last year.

In theory, once winter comes and they start producing more heating oil gas prices will go up.

Subaru and Honda have both announced diesels will arrive within the next two years - they're taking that route rather than hybrids in their larger vehicles. BMW may be bringing its phenominal diesel engine over here, and Mercedes now has a 50-state legal one again.
I want an Audi racing diesel in my Vette
I also want to know why diesel fuel is so much more expensive than super unleaded right now. I was under the impression that it needed far less processing, although maybe the low-sulphur version is raising the production cost.

the time of the true ice is here....gimme those diesels before Soccer Mom discovers them ....japs and diesels, perfect together
...WHICH reminds me, hear those ads for railroads which say something like 2,000 pounds of freight for 400 miles on one gallon of diesel? is anyone working on diesel electric power for cars? does GM still own EMD?
...won't need airbags with this puppy ->
