Default Can someone verify temps for me?

On another thread I outlined that I recently cleaned my radiator and switched the temperature sensor back to the stock one. This sensor controls the auxiliary fan in front of the radiator/condenser.

I verified yesterday that the main or puller fan comes on at 226*. After it came on it dropped the temperature to about 201*. After cycling several times I never did see or hear the front fan come on. Outside temp was in the low 50's so that may be why the front one never came on.

I thought I read somewhere that this auxiliary fan comes on at about 238* but naturally now I can't find the information.

Anybody know what the actual temp should be when the front fan comes on or how to check it's operation? Want to make sure the stock sensor I put back in still works.

Thanks for the help.

Ron

That sounds about right. Try letting it idle & see what it gets too.

50's is pretty cool if your moving.

Primary fan comes on at 226* with 248 psi refrigerant pressure, if you have the B4P auxilliary option it comes on at 235* regardless of the pressure.

If you can get hold of "Corvette Enthusiast" October 2007 issue there's a chart with the fan operating parameters for all C4s on page 68.

he is right.

also your pusher fan should come on if the AC is on. for some reason mine doesn't but then again it's low on freon and i never use it anyway.

if it comes on at 235 then you got problems although that is the designed temp it should come on.

only time my vette gets that hot is when i'm racing. normal every day driving it shouldn't come on at all. i have never seen my temps that high in ordinary every day driving. 230-232 at the most and that is stop and go traffic in 90+ degree weather.

if it comes on or gets that hot on the regular basis check under the front of the car where the radiator is as this collects alot of debris.
