I just decided to get replacement handles on the last C3 I owned. The interior was black and the handles were maybe $100 for the pair. I did think about creating new handles out of either billet aluminum or solid wood. I lost interest in fabbing replacements.

My 1980... it still has the original door panels, armrests, e-brake cover, etc. The carpet and seat covers are the only non-OEM parts.

I used one back in early 90's, and it was better (at the time) than spend the $120 dollar NOS replacement arm rest, but now, the replacement arms (not NOS) are reasonably enough...sometimes you can find them in ebay dirt cheap.

The kit back them was very expensive (I think I paid $20 dollars) comparatively-speaking.

It did last for a long time...
