Default Corvette Kit Car ??

Well, I finally decided to get professional help with my electrical problems! When I dropped the Vette off at the shop, I noticed a beautiful gold C2.

The technician told me that they were completing the wiring harness installation. I said that the car looked brand new. I surprised when he informed me that it was indeed a new car --- a kit car.

I am certainly NOT an expert on C2s, but I have to say -- it looked like a C2 to me, and pretty darn nice at that !

Has anyone ever heard or seen one of these Corvette kit cars? Besides, the obvious -- not being an original, are there any drawbacks? Are there kits for C1 and C3 era Vettes also?

If the kit Vette is still there when I pick up mine (maybe a week or so??), I'll take some pics.

Ralph

I've seen a number of C5's with a C1 kits on them. 62's and some 53's I think.

There was a C2 convertible kit car made about ten years ago by the "Nice Car Company"; it was designed to fit on a shortened GM "A" or "G"-body frame. They didn't make/sell very many, and went bankrupt. By the time you finished one and bought all the Corvette trim and hardware items that weren't included in the kit, you'd have as much money in it as if you restored a Corvette, but it was still just a "kit car", and was worth squat. Not a great business model.
