First, don’t you think that a judge will miss that there not a spiral housed shock absorber? And I don’t think they were semi gloss black either. Well maybe the seller could come up with any configuration of housing you want since they have a numbers and letters stamp set.

The shocks are only $25 each. The additional $175 each is for stamping any date you want on them.

Yup- for an extra $175 you can have your shocks monogrammed with whatever date you like. I don't think the date codes are in accordance with GM specs for the type of shocks- but I'd leave that up to the NCRS folks. Then again, I've always thought good taste and common sense beat the minutia of originality.

The stamping reminds me of something else. I never saw the purpose in these either.... but to each their own.

The standard AC Delco shock available for $19 or so at Autozone (or $18 cdn at Canadian Tire ) does very well in NCRS judging if repainted the correct greyish colour. Adding the correct date might get you- let's say 1 point per shock more- or 4 points per car, out of 4500 total. Hey, that's almost .1% increase!

There's good value for money!

Nope. Those are advertised as C2/C3 shocks, and 1962 was the last year for spiral shocks on Corvettes.
