Which forum did you want it posted in? I can move it for you.

BTW - I won't be able to attend.

We go every year if possible....the worlds largest single day automobile event.
Actually its a week or 2 long , but its always fun.

Attended this year for the first time. I've never seen anything like it. Fantastic! Won't ever miss it again. To learn more you can Google "woodward dream cruise. Gawd, I-75 is one screwed up road once you get into Michigan. Once out of Michigan and back in Ohio I-75 was good again. Worth it though.

I took the Vette this year, and went alone with the wife's blessing. Stayed at the Sommerset on Big Beaver in Troy. Great hotel, good price. The Vette club up there uses that hotel for this event. Anyway, I agree I-75 was a disaster on Friday. I left at 0-dark-30 and expected to be up there by 2 p.m. max. I made it at 4 p.m. Got a flat in the left rear from a piece of metal near Dayton and that cost me an hour. My GPS via the "detour" button got me off on two occasions and around big tie ups near Toledo and again just south of Detroit. Both times when I got back on I-75 there was no traffic in my lane for a long time; it was all stopped somewhere back where I came from. Saved my butt big time. I had a lot of cars I could remember that had passed me a half hour earlier, and as I had avoided the detour and was rolling again I saw several of them come up on me and gawk as they passed. They were wondering how the hell I got ahead of them again. It was amusing. Last time I use I-75 for the approach to Detroit. I ran Telegraph to I-696 to I-275 south going home and it was flawless, but had to go less than the limit because of heavy rain almost to Dayton. I left real early Sunday to avoid traffic. My gout kicked in before I got up there, but I said the hell with it and walked about 4 miles on Woodward after I cruised Saturday morning. I couldn't get into the Border's area parking with the Vette club as they had sold out about 100+ spaces, but as I cruised Saturday morning I passed about 50 of them on the way up to their parking area. As usual I parked behind the fire station on 13 Mile. Tried to cruise North on Woodward on Friday nite after dinner with some relatives in Westland, but that was a mistake. After getting on around 9 Mile and going smoothly, I hit the underpass around I-696 and it was dead stop and go for the next mile or two. Almost 2 hours later [on a 20 minute drive] I made it to the hotel after jumping off Woodward and hitting the GPS again. The traffic lights from 10 Mile on up are ridiculous. Anyway, Cruise day weather was the best until about 9 p.m. when it started raining in earnest. I was tucked in by that time. Great event.
