My Corvette(s):
1996 LT4 Convertible, Triple Black
Default OBDII Code

This morning the Check Engine light came on in my 96 LT4. While it was still running, I plugged in my code reader and got a 303. A little later, after shutting it off, plugging in the reader, and restarting it, I got 300. I've had this going on for a while, but its always been 300 (random misfire) before. Should I be looking at No. 3 cylinder as the problem?

This misfire goes away very quickly, but still sets the code which I usually just turn off with my reader.

Thanks,
JCS44

HI there,
P0300 is usually when the actual cylinder cannot be fully determined.
Tech 2 data can confirm by giving ACTUAL misfire counts of each cylinder.
YOU should look at #3 first, but do NOT assume thats the only one.

What do you mean by "Tech 2 data"?

HI there,
The data that a scan tool can give you will be MORE important then the actual code itself.

I certainly hear what you're saying, but this thing is so intermittant that it goes away almost as fast as it happens. Will the scanner still see it?
